My Cheap little 12" Makita Electric CS will cut real well, not so quickly, like a gas saw, but it cuts.............

Keep that blade sharp, and it will cut for sure!

    Default chain saw mishaps

the chaps and cut resistant trousers are the best insurance you can get for less than $200 bucks . if you are out alone cutting ,yes i know not a good idea. but the way it is some times ,the helmet ,visor muffs and chaps help you get home in one piece , nothing like some sawdust in the eye to make driving difficult , i think you do get more accident prone with age , but we can get smarter as well . have done 2 chainsaw courses , worth the time , as you get info from pro,s who show you how to work safe , happy cutting bob

Yeah, I've got a Makita electric with 18" bar and it can do some damage alright.

(It's also for sale; replaced with a Husky so I don't have to find a power point in the bush).

Any tips for where I can source some chaps? Metro suppliers near me don't seem to have much demand for them.
    Cheers, Ern

If you follow their measurement recommendations they fit fine & they will post to Oz.

I bumped the blade on a cs across my thigh whilst getting my cs fallers ticket.
No one in a group of 6 would have known if I didn't mention it.
Seems to happen when you least expect it and are the most complacent.
    Best to wear them.
