    Fish & Chips
My kids running out to the truck yelling "Daddy's Home" when I back in the driveaway after a hard days yakka.
    Fishing
A wallabies game and a six pack of Newcastle brown
    A stanley No 7
    Good mates
    Mutton Chops...NOT bloody LAMB
Sleeping in my swag under a desert sky lit up by about a zillion stars
A new pair of jeans and an old pair of boots
A winner on the Melbourne Cup (sigh, that would be good)
Just plain fixing something to help somebody
The laughs I get out of the characters on this board
and my favourite, a dram of Chivas Regal Royal Salute

    Cheers

Simple things for simple folk please 'scuse me Squizz for the partial plagarism, but how you put it rings very true to me.................................

    Shark'n chips (spot on mate)

My kids getting up early to wave through their windows in the morning & running out to meet me after a the long tiring battle we call work.

My Dogs(almost lost one a few weeks ago, Kids & me were devastated)

Any handtool I learn to use to effect

    Good friends.

Good food esp Lamb chops with mint and garlic (not bludy mutton, grew up on that stuff)

Walking thru the bush with our best mates (our 2 old collies Reg & Bessiebear) Mum & the kids, dogs chasin the wallabies sniffin stuff and runnin around silly, kids doing much the same but also asking about trees and animals and the Missus pipping me to the answer( She's 3rd gen timber family).

My old workboots do feel pretty comfortable now that Squizzy mentions it(thanks for the reminder)

    Winning anything

Helping people & knowing they will do the same in return without hesitation

The laughs & learning I get from the characters on this board.

A good strong cuppa at sunup with the wife on Sundays(don't drink much since the kids came along gave up on a few other chemicals over the years too)

Can relate well to a few of you blokes -

    The missus & kids
    The aforementioned big welcome home
My 9 yo daughter getting up at 4.30 to have brekkie with her dad before work
    A nice coffee
    Dark chocolate coated coffee beans
Fish & chips on a Friday night
Reading the Sunday paper sitting in the sun
Woodwork tips, jigs, homemade ingenious ideas, etc
Having the Sat footy on in the shed
Losing track of time when watching a movie at the cinema
Going home to Orbost & running into people I went to school with
My footy team having a win
    Reading a really good book
    The woodwork show each year
    Farmworld (field day) each year
    Espresso poured over vanilla icecream
    Home roasting coffee beans
    The Sopranos

Great idea for a thread....................cheers.................Sean, glass half full

Nah, Mick, looks like most people like more things than they hate....

and if those trivial things are all we have to hate, things can't be too bad.

Perhaps your right, this thread is younger than the hate one. (I thought woodworkers were all as cantankerous as me. )
But I like playing with my 1.5 and 2.5 yr old kids and getting beaten at chess by my 9 yr old. Like good food, jazz,
and the fact that I'm not addicted to nicotine any more.
All my granfaters old planes, a few 50 yr old stanleys and about 20 old, old wooden ones. rebate planes witth timber threads. etc

I like convincing people that they were wrong and that I was right
