Ah ha, there is sometimes a catalogue Number on the cover, or top RH inside page, I have a 1957 catalog in front of me that reads 790/G/25C/6/57.
And Yes, do go off the last numbers for the date, this style numbering system also appears in the Wadkin Brochures as well.
H, does the front of your catalog look anything like this 1929 Wadkin Catalogue ?

I saw one being a working display at the last Working with wood show in Melbourne, attached to a bench .The owner brought it in from the US himself.
And I have a friend who cleaned out a pattern makers shop at the Victorian Rail yards over near Williamstown . I think he has three of them what are chances of him selling one ? 0 . I have asked and he does not sell the things from his collection. He is a dealer and it's impossible to tell the difference between his stock and his collection , last time I saw it it was 20 feet high 50 feet wide and 300 feet long no kidding .
