By the way the guard is dead easy - turn right way up (currently upside down) and insert pin into matching size hole. It looks like your fence assembly may have had some after market adaptation or fix - the bits (bolts and angle brackets) don't look like the original parts. Try a pic from end on and it should be easier to help you.
