    TS and I have disagreed on this in the past. I'm less of a perfectionist, my two Jarah planes have been fantastic.

    Sawdust Maker, it's a damn shame about that larger blank. Had it not been for the gum line it would have been a real winner.

    Yeah
    I think the feel good part of me would like a plane made out of one hunk of timber. Somehow more aesthetically pleasing.
    At the end of the day I'll wait and see what the iron tells me when it arrives it might like laminated spotted gum, or even laminated ironbark ... or a bit of both.
    I like having options

    True, very true, the uniformity of grain and color going with the grain is just right.

    The advantage of lamination is that the more glue there is the more stable the plane body is.
