A Draggie went to King Island from Sale to load up on crays for the Mess Dining In night.

Was summer and they forgot to unload the floor storage. When they opened the aircraft on monday morning the stench blew them out the door, was just a liquified, putrified mess. Took days to clean it out fully.

Did you ever see that poem about Daks? Used to be around when I first stated work at Qantas over 40 years ago. All I can remember is the last 2 lines -
"They'll still be making bloody dough,
When other planes no longer fly."

Witnessed the passing of the Daks in RAAF service down at East Sale, They did a mock funeral with a nose section mounted on a trailor and everyone dressed in black. The fly past was great watching Machhis, Ct4, Draggies and Daks all trying to fly in formation at the same speed......

I've seen a Machhis, a Sabre & a Mustang do a fly past in formation.

Had three AT6's doing formation work over the house last Saturday, love the sound. Used to love the Vampire whinning over as well, of and the Mustang etc etc Just great living so close to Point Cook.....

You would not recognise the place, all built up on Point Cook (Aviation Road), now they are complaining as apparently aircraft are flying overhead? Go figure. I think Nicks Pizza is still going just near Millers Rd, was always a popular stop on the way back to base.
