You've done your table so this post is somewhat late. I've had a RAS for over 20 years now and the precision greatly improved once I made a table top that was flat and stayed that way. I've used ply and MDF but the secret for me was when I sandwiched steel bar on end between two 18mm marine grade ply. Cut the grooves on each ply face to fit the steel. The two ply pieces each glued and weighted on perfectly flat surface to dry.
its the most stable table I've ever had and now after 2 years not a mm of warpage. Dead flat.
i got the tip from Mr Sawdust book on RAS......great read.
cheers

I stripped the whole saw to the last part, removed all rust polished all steel work.
Had the motor rewound replaced bearings as needed and fully rewired,
Now all thats left is to make a bench and table suitable for it to stay on.
Any thoughts on a steel frame out of 41 x 41 strut ?

Steel should be preferable to one made of timber and a torsion box on top of that with leveling built in would top it off nicely and don't forget the sacrificial top of course.
