I'm still not getting emails from the forum to my telstra.com or bigpond.net.au accounts but they are going to my gmail.com account.
The first two are working for email so its not the servers themselves. While they are obviously related and part of the overall telstra/bigpond cloud at some point they are distinctly different destinations. While I've heard anecdotes of email sometimes held up in transmission even denied delivery to bigpond I have never experienced it before (maybe I have now).
I am not getting:
email updates of thread subsciptions
email "suggested reading" of threads
requests for verification of user cp changes
The gmail.com address seems to work for all above.
The problem is deeper than just "the mail server stopped". Presumably it's logs will be stuffed with undeliverable lines.

Still no notifications. I'm more than sick of constantly manually checking the threads to see if there's an answer to my questions, for no reason.
I'm outta here. Might check in a week ot two and see if it's fixed.... Steve

You can check your subscriptions via you user cp.

I've never used the email notification after I found that it lagged behind (sometimes significantly). If you use Firefox in conjunction with the "Reload Every" add-on you can just have your User Control Panel opened, set the reload to 5 minutes, and Bob's you uncle.
Other than that if you use the iSpy feature (to the right of the UCP link) you are supposed to be able to set it for subscribed threads only.

I don't use Firefox, (tried it a few years ago, but preferred IE), so that's out.
Just opened iSpy, checked 'Subscriptions Only' and got a list of threads that I'm not subscribed to.
I'll wait until the email notifications are fixed, I reckon.
Meantime, I'll get more work done if I stay away from here. When I get my next email notification, I'll know it's fixed and get on with my threads.... Steve

Go to user cp not ispy, that shows your current shows your subscription list
I have uploaded an image of my user cp with the bit circled to show you where to click to open all your subscribed list once you've opened your user cp

Still no forum email to bigpond or telstra emails but do get them on gmail.
It's not just thread reminders its all email from the forum.
I sent a message to the forum webmaster using the contact us link below but no reply to that either. I realise the admins know the situation, my info in message didn't suit a post.
I think most of us know there are several ways to manage thread subscriptions. I just find email more convenient for the job. And like I said, all notification emails from the forum whatever the purpose seem to be affected, so discussions on alternatives is just part of the story.

Yeah. The reason I like email notifications so much is that I've set my PC to make a nice loud noise when email arrives and I can hear it from the work room without regularly dusting off and coming out to check manually. I don't get a lot of other emails in the course of a day, so the system works well.
Suits my lazy nature.... Steve

Still nothing .
For those that are wondering what is going on, suggested I try clearing the cache, which I did. I asked him to send a response to this thread, still no email notification. He suggested I try Firefox which I downloaded and installed then asked him to send another post and again received no email notification. I did a reboot after clearing the cache and after installing Firefox, just in case anyone asks .To grow old is inevitable.... To grow up is optional
