    Default is this the same as button shellac or white polish?

    about 5 years age I polished some good old mountain ash chairs with white polish and i couldnt get the polish to come up on one of them.
    I discovered i hadforgoten to neutalised the oxalic acid i had used to bring the colour back, properly.

    maybe you have somthing contaminating the timber?
