Certainly fancy one, but too big for most of my work.

Absolutely awesome machine. Had the privilege of using it for four or five weeks over the Xmas/NewYear break and in my opinion the best quality power tool I have ever used. In around two weeks I will post a detailed review, so stay tuned.

Look forward to it,have seen the new Brochure out with the hefty as expected price tag, have to be doing some big stuff to justify the outlay.

This is definately not an ornament and like the DF500 has to be fully employed in whatever you are at with your woodworking to warrant the need of it.

I'm going to sit back for a while & look at all the review as this populates the wider regions of the world.
I reckon it wont sell in the same volumes of the DF500 but I have been wrong in the past.

    Cheers

    Hi John,

It will be interesting to see how it goes, and see what Lignum thinks about it. But I expect the Domino Df-700 XL is not going to be the general purpose machine the DF-500 is. And for people about to take the Domino plunge, for most the DF-500 will be the best machine to go for.

But as you suggest, only time will tell.

I was forced through financial penury to sell my Domi.. I wish I had it back..got about 200 m/t's to do and the thought is daunting.
Trying to make a a half decent Mortising Jig (which I have done) and about to test its efficacy. Wish me luck. Still wish I could get my Domi back...could do the job in a couple of hours...

Hey Anthony, just checked out your revamped web site. Excellent work. Very much easier to navigate around and I like the nice new interactive bits.

Gee Shed thats a rough turn up for you having to sell the Domi.

Good luck with the m/t's at least its not the DT's well it could be if the d stands for Domi.

Was your Domino one of the early models or was it a later model ? I still like having one of the early ones with the pins instead of the plastic.

    cheers

Interesting to go back five and a half years when the Domi was first introduced, and the common thought by the majority was it wont sell to the masses at all but only as a specialised tool to a very limited market. That has been proven totally wrong, and im predicting the 700, whilst not having the same overall sales figures, will be a big seller (in the trade side) and have strong (but limited domestic ) sales figures.

If you come to Sydney often you can pick up my domino and use it for your project if your jig doesn't work out. It's the newer model with the plastic tabs, not the pins (which would be handy).

I agree that the trade side of the market will find the XL700 more useful than the home based hobbyist.

Now having seen the latest Domino and its intended applications I would still opt for the DF500 if I was in the market for a machine carrying out MT task on a regular basis.

    Hi Sheddie.

Really sorry to hear about you having to sell your dominatrix. I bet you're whipping yourself now. Did anyone get my joke? Sorry, it's not a jokeing matter, especially with 200 M&T pending.

Thanks.. appreciate the feedback. I've been working hard on it.

That's a mighty generous offer Andy and I appreciate it. The same penurious situation keeps me from travelling too far from home unfortunately. So I'll have to pass - thanks all the same. I'm in Newcastle tomorrow the 17th for my Neurosurgical appointment (at long last -the pain is unbearable). Maybe I'll get an all expenses paid trip to the big smoke. I'll be out of action for up to 2 years if I have the surgery. My woody career will end if not.
So will be selling up in that unfortunate event. Might go back to Uni - do Law and sue some busterd!

You betcha. Halleluiah, Festool seen the light and reverted back to 5mm pins but in a different type of operation. The pins on this are superb and im wondering if the next generation Domi 500 will follow suit.

PS, sorry to hear about your Domi Mike.

That's the reason I'm selling the Mercedes the old man gave me recently. If I can sell that, get the neck sorted I can then replace some of the tools I've had to sell and get some stock timber in.
