Geez, Dan, I know that. My final point (before I lighten up on this forever) is that dressing a political statement as a joke doesn't make it any less political.
However, I've been trying to play the ball, not the man.

And I think you'd agree that if you feel strongly about something you should speak up about it, hey?

I live away from home during the week and work over 200 hours a month in a stressful job for the privilige of paying more tax than those on a 38hr week.

Somehow, I don't feel bad about getting a tax reduction.

Yup. Just trying to keep it light hearted or The Powers may decide to give it the snip. Twas a bit tongue in cheek, so don't fret.

I know what the problem is. It should've been a pancake restaurant, then everyone would've seen the funny side.

Almost makes ya wanna go through Cobrham at a million miles an hour just to see if Constable(?) Dan P Eastwood is on duty and tell him, ya damn well do pay his wages, and go and find some real crimnals.

I wonder how lucky I'd feel then.

You wouldn't earn yourself many discounts, that's for sure. You forgot the "Do you know Sergeant Smith from Uppercumbuckta West, He's a really good mate of mine"
