Also everything slows dramatically at midnight AU Eastern standard time for a few minutes when a heap of notifications are sent out. Usually only a couple of minutes at the most.

Just been through all your IP addresses Fossil and none are banned (blocked) from our site. If they were you would receive a message telling your IP was banners, your email address was banned, or you were banned.
All is fine at this end. Most likely a server problem at your end and being as how it's optus net they probably won't admit to there being anything wrong.
As a rule I would give you a new password and this seems to fix allmost all weird problems. However you are able to login from other sources so that isn't going to help.
Can you see the forums at all from your home computer? If not then the problem will definitely be at your end, as you would only be blocked from the forums if you tried to log in.
It definitely isn't at our end. Sorry

Fossil, it may possibly be one of the following things.
Have you inadvertantly added the forum site to your filter on your AV software?
Have you been running a hosts file or software that updates one?
Contact your ISP to see if they have accidentally blocked the forum.

Thanks all for all the suggestions and assistance.
All is sorted now. I contacted the manufacturer of my router and they suggested turning router off overnight.
It worked. I don't Know why, but it worked.
Thanks again,
Fossil.

Just come on while having lunch and same thing Server Busy and Time out message
This will agree could be anywhere between my computer and WWF server.
I know Bigpddle's regional servers get mouldy/corroded during winter and cause problems.
Many years ago while on dial up Telstra fellow came to check the lines as we were having heaps of trouble. He checked everything said not close to the street even, went to main exchange and found they wer lucky not to have had a major meltdown. He called saying Íts green" almost every patch board was covered.
