Youre a smart man Bruce.
The Rogue Traders first song with the Elvis Costello riff was fantastic. The rest I dont care for. I like all types of music. If it sounds good then I dont give a toss about how its marketed or who sings it. For mine, I can't listen to the same music all the time whether it be Metallica or ABBA.
Before you flame me Ill bet that very few of you have a CD collection as diverse as mine. A lot of it is because I DJ'ed in a nightclub in the 90's, and the rest of it, because I love music.
I think there is very little totally "original" work out there but really as Bruce pointed out, who cares.
My only red has come from the ape for a post which received two greenies, so what does that say. BTW where can I cash in my points?

Well well well, If you dont like rogue traders fair enough but just because I do there is no need to hit me with a red... grow up.
The reason I have taken offence was well explained in the reply to the PM you sent me...

I do fail to see how im leading with my chin, sure post a smart ass reply(I'd laugh anyway) but a reddie nooooooooooo! "
Ps, I dont like rogue traders because of the singers tits, I like it because its not some lovey dovey crap that fills the market nowdays, and its the type of music I listen too while pumping weights at the gym(beat orentated).
If you think its a abonimation to the original it just shows you have no respect for taste... they wouldnt use it if was crap in the first place!(they dont use the song at all only parts of the main riff da da dat dat da dat da dat... bah baa bah ba)
And just to set a point straight... Rogue traders are not a prerecorded band with just singers and dancers performing, they are a proper band who do actualy have some real instruments played live....(yes they do have some synthetic parts, just about all do now)
Like shed hand said "Gangsta rap, ordinary rap, gospel, kylie, shyte, madonna, shyte. its all shyte. 50 cent, snoopy dog, marilyn manson, and anyone like 'em...shyte." I definately agree, its not about the music its (mostly not all)pure commercialist synthetic prerecored crap.
How do you think would others feel if I gave them a reddie because they're into the darkside of WW.... Id be shot down in flames.
Gee that was a long winded Ps

I also like Antony and the Johnsons (look 'em up on Google..brilliant and off the planet), Bjork, the White Stripes and Nick Cave etc etc. My tastes are very eclectic. I just don't think all those (predominately american) toothy big titted blondes have any musical talent and the songs they sing to computer generated music(?) is pure pap.
If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

Jesus, Bruce.
I may have had to slap you up the back of the head with a maddock handle.
You were starting to go the Red, feelgood, communist, comrade path there for a few minutes.
But I see you have snapped out of it.
Fight it boy. fight like there is no tomorrow.
You too can have a neck as red as mine. You just need more practice.
Now, go take some production bonuses from the local yocals at Hurfords Firewoods...er...sorry...Hardwoods.
Hooroo.
Regards, Trevor
Grafton.

I voted "whatever, man"...I just got home from doing an utterly bizarre thing for a 34 year old father of three- attending a 20th birthday party! I didn't even know the birthday girl! How wild and crazy am I?
Well, not very, actually. But I did manage to talk about the japanese proverb of trusting the tale, not the teller. That is to say, creativity comes from the spiritual and speaks to the spiritual in us, so we can relate to and be moved by music, art etc even from unlikely sources. What you hear in the music may be worlds removed from what the musician intended, but it's still legit for you.
Back on topic: It's just a reddie. Wear it with pride!

Drinking, not smoking. And it was for a 34 yr old, not with. Read it again, it's not difficult.
