Hi Bryan do you still want a fan?
And howcome your signature isnt being scrutinised and asked to be removed.....lol
On the subject on the word gloat....
IMO this has really gone overboard!
Yes not a nice sounding word but that is what welder posted...rightly or wrongly...if one doesnt like it dont contribute....but complaining about something that is not an attack on anyone..is pedantic to say the least
Thats my tupence worth.

I would like to think that this exercise is an attempt to come up with a new title for an old idea (thanks welder) that will be acceptable to more people.
I understand that some of you would prefer to retain the old name. That's fine. It should be an unbiased decision.
It has been suggested that if you don't like it then don't look at it. Start your own.
Is it better to have multiple threads, or a single thread that everyone can contribute to?

I don't mind if the thread get a name change I agree with the sentiments. I started the thread when I was 15 and. It was a gloat at that point although I would have .named it different if I had put more thought into it.
BETTER TO HAVE TOOLS YOU DON'T NEED THAN TO NEED TOOLS YOU DON'T HAVE

Backing our youth
As a young bloke, I had an opinion on everything, rightly or wrongly, ( mostly wrongly ) Apart from the times that I was threatened by the proverbial " 9 foot Hells Angel " ( you old P******S should remember that line ) I stuck to my guns.
Never once have I regretted standing up for my standards/principles, ( copped a couple of floggings for it over the years ) but many an occasion I regret having backed down.
Its a forum on the Interwebby. Don't like it.....then BUGGER OFF!
Don't try and smash a young bloke because you might be offended, turn the TV OFF.
Welder, I'm on a hobby horse here and I can't back you up apart from the once a month or so that I look on here, but I'll do my best to keep an eye out for you.
As for the slanging and political correctness of this lot, I'm game if all you naysayers are too.
Doing big hours at work at the moment, dealing with lots of professionals with ego's far larger than their abilities so it may be a day or two before yo may receive a reply
I'll spend bucket loads more effort to support a young bloke that has a go than a bunch of Whingey Whiny old blokes over the wording of a forum title

I think that the thread title should give some idea as to what the thread is relating to, some of the titles suggested so far do not meet that criteria, as do a lot of other threads on this forum.
On another machinists forum that I frequent, threads with "meaningless topic titles" are quickly locked.
Regards, Lex.
