Not yet the drawers are not done, but all parts are cut and ready for dufftails. I got some beautiful Jarrah boards from Greg. One 5cm board splits into 2 drawer fronts. Very nice.

jarrah
Great work as usual Scott.
Glad you are happy with the jarrah....... Scott, did you use the wider brown pieces or the red coloured ones? Looks like the darker quarter sawn to me?

Great work Scott. Drawer fronts flow nicely.

It's looking great Wongo.
I like the way you have arranged the Jarrah for the drawers.
What did you use to mount the veneers? Ply or MDF?Scally

Finally had a chance to get back to this project. The top is made from 1 single slab. Even with the sapwood it was just enough to make the top. It started to crap today so I applied a coat of shellac to seal it quick smart.

All drawers are almost done except the bottoms.

The is a 5mm gap in the middle of the top. It is filled with epoxy.

Great looking piece, Wongo, good to see our beautiful Aussie hardwoods put to such good use
Are the drawer sides some type of pine? I notice its very nice straight quarter sawn stock. I just did some drawers using pine for the sides but couldn't find anything like that. Had to settle for backsawn stuff. It didn't worry me too much as my drawers were only shallow, but I got the impression pine is nearly always backsawn. Could you tell me what it is and where you got it?

Thanks Peter and Bob.
It is Kauri Pine. I use it for drawer sides religiously. I get mine from my man Greg Ward.
Anyway, I got some ammonia from Coles this morning. I will use it to oxidise the Ebony tonight, so hopefully they will turn into a beautiful black colour by tomorrow.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com
