    Default Ambiguous acronyms

Where an acronym can only stand for one thing (eg SWMBO), it can be irritating but understandable. However, if it stands for more than one thing it can be quite confusing, especially if context doesn't help resolve the issue. For instance is LOL "laughs out loud" or "Love of my Life" (or one of the other 56 meanings that it has? See this link for the LOL list - http://www.acronymfinder.com/af-quer...d&string=exact

acronyms should be left where they belong
in the public service so that turkeys can pretend they are clever.
They dont fit in the wood shop.

Acronyms and Jargon are incredibly important to those of us superior woodworkers so that we can display our higher standing and stop newbies from sneaking in and posing as if they are important which they are not because they might tip some of us out of our exalted positions which would not be acceptable.

Thinks it has all been pretty OK with Darkside etc Foilies might be a touch confusing but you get to find out about that stuff at get togethers. Or of course people just ask online and get to find out which goes completely against my decree but then that shows how much chop I have here.

Of course Dusties aren't dusties but really dust collectors and a few that might be a touch misleading but not really an issue is it?

Did I have a reason for posting this? Dunno but it wasted 5 minutes that I wasn't doing anything else with (IWDAEW)

    Cheesh!!
Trying to do the right thing by searching, I typed "CA" and got 17 pages of acronyms, including 'Christine Aguilera' and 'Cricket Australia'. Then I decided if the "CA" used in woodwork, and what I'm actually looking for, is listed I may not recognize it anyway.
So in wood-speak will some one please tell me?
