    G'day Irene & Jim!
Believe me when I say I know full well how it feels when you loose a loved member of the family both human and a pet. It tears your heart out, however your memories of them are very precious and that cannot be taken away.
I am sure Suki had a good family during the time she was with you.

    All the best.

It breaks your heart when it's time. Knowing you've done what's best provides little comfort at the time as all you want is your dog. To feel their fur, to smell their breath, to hear their heart beat. It makes no sense at the moment. In time it will. Sorry.

Damn, it cuts deep , we lost our German Shepherd at 13, not a dry eye in the house too. Took us awhile to get another pet, now we have Burmese cat and 4 chickens. Not sure how smart that choice was but the grandkids are all for them.

You are right Ian we had to put her first as it would have been easier to let her suffer longer but with no quality of life not fair at all.

Ah! Jim the good part is that you have walked a long way with your friend - cherish the memories.
