Watch who you're calling a trained monkey please
Sorta, kinda, have an icon on my Toolbar that activiates the refresh of Activity Stream it points to this
Activity Stream - Woodwork Forums
Of course the irony of it is that vBulletin knows when a new post has been put up, it even puts New Activity (x) on the csreen to let you know. You would think instead of putting that information on the screen they would just update it wouldn't you? Common sense is not as common as it once was

Thanks Greg! With a forum of this size with so many daily posts the lack of a Forum/Post filter of some sort is a real pain if it is not available.
Let me say that the "Boss", Steve and the tech guys and all the mods have undertaken a huge task. I do not envy you, Well doneRussell (aka Mulgabill)

Links seem to be harder to find in posts so if looking for an expected link move your mouse over and around the text a bit - in the mean time I'll report that too.

Current List
Date Reported Description Comments Urgency Admin Comment 9th Sep 2012 #30 Images are not being displayed. go into settings and I get a lot of Document.write java script errors before it loads in the top frame. HIGH Working on this one, bear with us. #33 The mobile site has no WWF logo's, all vbulletin images. If you click on "full site" at the bottom of the mobile page you get page not found https://www.woodworkforums.com/forum/?styleid=36
The upgrade made it impossible to post quick responses with my phone (Nokia N900) and Opera Mobile. #146Medium #34 Users want iSpy back FIXED For those missing iSpy, try this link and put it in your favourites:
Activity Stream - Woodwork Forums
It does not automatically update, you need to refresh (I think)#37 & 50 Settings, and then General Settings returns errors all the way to Xmas. This is under Ie8 and mozilla
Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class etc
In Fact lots of errors under settings.
Top frame gives a lot of Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in [path]/includes/class_bootstrap.php(1419) : eval()'d code on line 79
and not many pages render properly.
Second Comment #50
Anyway, bug report. The admins may have noticed already, but since I can't see a report about it..............
My options page in the UserCP gives a php error:
Code:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/woodwork/public_html/profile.php(2083) : eval()'d code(98) : eval()'d code on line 1
Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class. Template name: option in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4734
Also, the Profile page appears to have some minor CSS glitches in FF15 on W7. Overlapping content. Both should be easy enough to fix.
ETA: Another thing is that people's avatars are not displaying in their posts. This may be related to the settings problem.FIXED Currently rebuilding the Search Engine Index which should fix the search problem.
(EDIT by Groggy: And the Settings issue too)
However, with 137,445+ threads and over 1.436 million posts this could take from an hour to all day, it may also slow down the forums slightly.
Cheers - Neil
Should be ok now, the indexing is finished.#39 Reply works in IE but in mozilla it will not allow me to get into the text entry for a reply. Now I know IE will try and fix code errors before rendering but mozilla will not. #45 Trying to access the forums throughTapatalk (my preferred way of looking at the forums) Is impossible, still getting locked out messages Multiple reports of this. Medium May be skin related.
Temporary option is to use ForumRunner.#47 The colours man, the colours......... I've spent a bit more time on the Forum now, and the one thing that is causing me real grief is the orange text. I simply cannot read it without peering closely at the screen.
I spent a fair bit of energy at the Canberra Show extolling the virtues of the site, showing them how to navigate the site, and encouraging them to join the forum. I now feel like a fraud - if I had known this new colour scheme was coming in I would have been embarrassed to talk to them the way I did. Post #96FIXED Colours have been adjusted. #51 I went to look for a post of mine, went in to Advanced Search, selected my name from the drop down menu, clicked on Search Now and no matches were found. FIXED Currently rebuilding the Search Engine Index which should fix the search problem.
Should be OK now.#53 I think they also forgot to update by removing the display for theCanberra Timber & Working with Wood Show advertising which finished days ago . #54 When I went to w/w/w.woodwork/forum.com (I had to break that text with / or it just displayed the link Activity Stream... like follows ) was directed to the activity stream (Activity Stream - Woodwork Forums ) but I think it would be better to have it direct to the home page(www.woodworkforum.com/forum.php). It's a better page for newcomers to land upon. #60 Where did market place go? It's at the bottom of FORUMS HELP DESK Market Place and some other forums will be going under their own tabs when we can sort them out. For now I have enabled it as a full forum section which can now be found directly beneath the Musical Instruments Section, which eventually will also be on a tab, along with Metal Work, Wooden Boats and Library.
The implementation of the tabs will serve to shorten the main page of the forum so less scrolling to do down the page and bring the main page back to pretty much all woodworking related.#63 Don't like it as much either, especially the difference between the read and unread thread colours, they are too similar. FIXED #70 One thing - there doesn't seem to be an icon to click to go to the User Control Panel. Or do I now just click the settings icon? FIXED Click the Settings Button #82 Also note that the arrows on the side of the various fields in the USERCP are missing, the ones that would let you collapse or open the various fields.
If you can't collapse the fields, the USERCP page can be very long#86 Any chance that the RSS feed be increased from 30 articles? #94 I am not getting any email notification of posts to my threads This goes for pm's too. I know Neil already knows about the pm emails.
Also #149HIGH #107 Not a major issue but on the previous bulletin board, I had it set so thatattachments opened in a new tabbut now they open in the current window.
Had a look through Settings/User CP but couldn't see anywhere to change this, pretty sure you could set this on the old bulletin board.#110
Just looked into this a bit more, on my iPad, attachments previously opened in new tabs but now open in the same tab/window, and I've just tried it on my laptop and attachments open in new tabs as they did prior to the upgrade. Hmm I think I'll see if the settings on my iPad have changed or need to be reset.
Also tried doing this post via my laptop (Vista 32 bits/IE 9) and the browser just freezes when I hit reply but works ok when I use iPad has happened a few times today.#109 Not sure if this has been covered, and it may just be a problem with the search engine, but i have just noticed when i click on new posts i am getting all new posts, including in subforums that i have opted not to get new posts listed from. The previous version allowed users to filter forums they did not wish to see.
Also # 116 Forum Homepage Filtering
Also #152This was a capability coded into the iSpy script that will need to be requested for redevelopment. #116 Could do with some new smilies Low #125 Why is the thread heading on the LHS of the page (first column), and the forum it is in hard up against the opposite side of the page? These two bits of information go together. I find myself scanning the extreme right hand column to find forums I am interested in, then trying to associate thread headings on the other side of the page with these. Also post #143 & 144 #128 When I reply to posts (including this one!) I keep having to save the text into notepad first...because as soon as I hit the "Post Quick Reply" icon it freezes. I get the "woodworking forums not responding" message and I have to reload the page; often several times, and of course it loses my text-hence why I save it in another program first. Last night I tried to reply to a post and it took 7 attempts..... Multiple reports of this. HIGH May be skin related. #133 Has anyone noticed that the dog t**d pictures are upside down? Needs a better description #140 I might mention that having entered a post today, on going back to edit it ... possibly changing to Go Advanced ... it lost all the pagination and became a no CR'd block of text. It wasn't a huge deal - had to put the CRs back in - but then it was only a few lines long.
Also you would have noted that some new and old posts have images visible, but most don't.
I know you are looking at it - the pictures - i just thought the inconsistency was interesting.#140 Also - contrary to a message I received from the software yesterday - I did create a post today with two vimeo videos in it ... mostly by accident.
They had two almost similar URLs (different by 1 number) ... but actually came up as two instances of the first video.
I only mention it 'cos you guys probably don't have enough to do, and messing around with the software is just what you wanted to do all week.#148 Is there any setting to enable one to go straight into 'Advanced' when posting replies? Yes, it is in settings but is misbehaving. #168 Hyperlinks are hard to see in posts. Another skin issue. Medium

Grr just typed this on the laptop but got frozen, now using iPad.
Regarding #128
I kept getting frozen screens with IE9 numerous times on my laptop when replying to posts but using either Safari or ForumRunner on my iPad, posts or threads went through straight through everytime, hmm maybe I should try Safari on my laptop as well.Cheers

I'm not sure if this is in the right place.
I have always said "if it's not broken don't fix it"
I personally think the new forum look and just the whole way it works is a total balls up
Someone has stuffed up badly here and I apologize if I have offended anyone
But it's a bloody shemozzle
and it looks horrid on my computer
Cheers as always

I think I might look in again in a few months time. This really is just too difficult. I am finding the whole site too hard to navigate or read.
Sorry guys, going to sign out for a while,
Sad really because I have enjoyed the old Forum style. It's just totally buggered now
Best wishes all, AA

Two things. I think we need to deploy a change management consultant and a team of psychiatrists to deal will the issues that have arisen. C'mon all, challenge yourself, click on things, unlearn what you've learnt and find good things out of this. The white flag equals mediocrity

We should remember that this forum is free. If we paid to belong, we would have a right to complain.
Certainly offer constructive criticism but don't bellyache over minor problems.
The backroom team are obviously working hard to sort it all out.Tom
