Will I have added you to the list.
I finish my semesters assessments on about 7 days. I will then dedicate my holidays to get this order of the ground.
We are up to 170 blades, and we are almost good to go.

Hi TS,
Thanks for your continued efforts to get this order underway - it's very much appreciated.
I have previously put myself down for a 2" bevelled blade for my No5 jack plane. Could I also now add in a cap iron to my order?
Many thanks
P.S. I was wondering if you know of someone doing something similar for high quality blades for chisels?

Medium_Al AND Malcolm Eaton I have added you to the list.
Regarding the chisels. Medium_Al have you seen this.
We may have a few sets left, I can add you to the waiting list, if we end up having a few spares. PM'ing me is best.

Spokeshave blades
TS
Will the spokeshave blades have the slots to suit the 151?
Are the block plane blades going ahead?
Are there any spare blades left as I might get some others and start hunting down the planes as the first round blades are great.

Hi Kapex
Yes the blade for the spokeshave will have the holes.
I have not had time to look into the block plane blades, I am in my assessment period. If we can cut out the slots with laser cutter then it should be no problem. If we will need to get the grinder to use a cutter to cut the slot, it could be problematic, as it will increase cost, were the laser cutter will not cost more to cut a few extra holes. We have 8 block plane blades on order, so we will see.
I will have to have a chat with John at Rippon and see how much extra grinding the slots would cost.
We are up to 173 blades.

TS
How many blades all up? I have found a post indicating 120 blades per sheet.
Are you still intending to organise the wooden plane blades?
Hope you go well with the assessment!

We are up to 174 blades we need 26 more to get the order of the ground. I am working on redoing the CAD files for the cap irons.
I hope to send them to the laser cutter to confirm price, and quantity.
Bohler is out of 3.5 mm M2 HSS stock when I spoke to them last month the thinest they had was 4 mm. Which is to thick. Lets hope they have 3.5 mm.
We will use 3.5 mm because anything thinner risks turning into a banana once heat treated. We will then ground the blades down to 3 mm. I would prefer to keep the blades at 3 mm because this worked for the majority of people and only a minority had to open their mouths. Plus thicker blades always help.
To answer Kapex yes I want to finish the wooden plane blade order at the same time as the stanley order, however we do not have enough demand to fill full 4.5 mm and 6.5 mm sheets, so we may have to purchase half sheets from someone.
These will be the last batch orders I will be ever doing, so I want to wrap it all up.

G'day thumbsucker,
I'll help the order along just a little bit more with these ones.
2 x 2" beveled with cap irons to suit.
1 x 2 3/8" beveled with cap iron.
If the block plane blades are 1 5/8" wide I'll take an older style one of those too, if they are 1 3/8" wide then scrap that one.
Thanks,
Steve.

Harry I have added you to the order.
Steve I have added you as well, minus the block plane blades.
I am very much considering dropping them, because everyone wants a different size and then there is usually more then one type in any one size, for the small numbers we are talking about its not worth making them.
I have done the preliminary CAD for the plane blades and cap iron (attached), all I need to do is the spokeshave, which I have a sample for, plus adding in the rebate blades and cap iron thanks to Vann.
Also is attached the latest pdf of what people have ordered.
All blade widths are metric and rounded up to the nearest whole 0.5 or 1 mm, remembering that the laser cutter will remove about 0.2 due to the kerf of the laser.
If you can have a close look to see if your order is correct.
I NEED Critical Dimension for the 2 1/4" cap iron, if you have a 2 1/4" wide cap iron can you post the critical dimension, as show.
Attachment 142263
As soon as the CAD is done I will send them to the laser cutter, and I will send bank details for payment to members next week.

Hi TS.
There appears to be some confusion with my requirements, the pdf shows me requiring more blades than I requested.
Just to confirm my request I only require 1 off 2 3/8inch wide blade with bevel for a Stanley no 7. I do not require a cap iron or any additional blades.
I think you may have got someone else's requirement
marked down to me.
Regards
Malcolm Eaton.

Sorry for the novice question, but I'm only just getting into the hand tool thing. I only have a single plane (Stanley #4) at the moment, but plan on extending this both larger and smaller. Is there a more or less universal size for larger planes I could order, or are they all distinct sizes and I'd have to be sure of picking up one of the correct size?
Otherwise, the pdf is correct - so far!
