Sally would love to be able to turn a pen ,under your expert guidance Gab.
Unfortunately Sally has arthritis.
So she doesn't have the hand strength.
She likes quote reddish timber .lol
But ,we can wait to the weekend ,no need to go all out before the weekend now.
I mean what else would you be doing at Dooen any way.
Listing to me dribble on !!
Readies is folding stuff momla or $$$$ or cents
But one thing you maybe able to demonstrate to me or any one else
Is that super glue finish.
I would love to see how that is done ?
Do your fingers get all sticky and stuck together?
Cheers Matt

Ah, that's something I am able to bring to the table then.....
I'll turn up a few, and bring them down for a ca finish!!
I wear latex gloves so no sticky fingers, but the dog always looks at me weird when I pull them on and let out an evil chuckle...
Red timber.... Got it!"All the gear and no idea"

Is there any interest from anyone attending if I bring a grinder with a CBN wheel on it as well a Worksharp 3000? Those wanting to try them could bring tools to sharpen. The grinder does not have any jigs to sharpen lathe tools only flat blades.

All packed up
Heading off in the morning, car has all sorts of bits and pieces packed ready for a fun weekend. Items include a few bowl blanks, a set of thread chasers in case there is an experienced thread chaser on hand, some pine for demonstrating the Gifkins jig, the Gifkins jig for said demonstrations, a few turning tools for just in case, an urn, a chair, safety glasses and ear muffs, some router bits for the Incra jig for Simplicity to play with, plus the usual essentials for a bit of a holiday at Dooen and surrounds.
Unfortunately, there will be no SWMBO (Ann), as she has some appointments that clash with the time away, hence bringing just the one chair.
I will be interested in seeing Chris Parkes' sharpening set-up with the CBN wheel, particularly the tool rest system that he uses.
If anyone wishes to bring a portable hard disk or a decent sized USB memory stick, I am happy to share some files I have on a hard disk related to timber of one sort or the other if time and enthusiasm permits.
Hopefully Dave TTC has mowed the lawns and polished the silverware ready for his guests.
See Ya's all at Dooen.
Alan...
