Wood Turning Forums
G'day Mates,
I am completely new at this business so you'll probably get some laughs at the fumbles I'll make. Name is Graham Boytell, a grandad at 88 and live in Brisbane. Have just taken up wood turning as a hobby and naturally I'm looking for tips etc. I have recently bought a decent lathe and a Tormek tool sharpener which so far I find exceedingly good which you might expect from a raw beginner. Hope that gives you some idea where I sit in the picture of things.
Regards
Graham

Welcome to our madhouse.
You've certainly come to the right place for a bit of information, the occasional mis-information and the inevitable dispute over what belongs in which category.
Don't worry about the fumbles, we all make them even if we don't necessarily 'fess up.

G'day Graham and welcome to the addiction.
It might pay you to sus out some clubs. Woodturners. Soc. of Qld at Greenslopes and Bayside Woodturners come to mind.
We are here to help also, so ask away and you will get lots of answers. Some might even be helpful.
