Anyone with aircompressed spray equipment?
Heya, for a year 12 Design and Technology Major work I am building a plasma tv unit with a water feature.
for the main products i am using melamine particle board to give the modern appeal.
I am wanting to know if anybody has any spraying equipment eg: air compressor, spray gun n booth possibly or information that may be able to help me with finishing the product.
I will be applying ESP which will help the paint to stick to the plastic surface. i live in Springwood in the blue mountains.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers T

Its not cheating if "you are not allowed to use the machines", it just has to be documented in the folio. But yes it would be better if I were able to do it myself...

The guns are quite cheap ( some around $15 ) maybe you could borrow one or buy a cheap one, and the maybe hire a compressor from bunnings? You don't need a spray booth, you just need a roll of tape and a large amount of newspaper
Are you painting over the melamine?

U dont ahve to apply a esp coat to make it stick to melamine, In the kitchen industry we spray over melamine every day u just need to cut back and etch it very good. Use a festo or random orbital sander with about 180- 240 grit paper and it should stick fine , the main thing is to spray as soon as possible after etching so not to let containiments settle on it . Hope this helps.

Watch the cheap spray guns.
I bought a snot sprayer from super cheap and one of the fan air holes in the nozzle wasn't drilled properly.
By the time I got round to using it, the warranty was up so I am stuck with it.
They reckon their products are better now but who knows.
Best of luck.
