I haven't tried this...
.., but it sounds like this tip for gummed-up jar lids may be worthwhile.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Good one WW and so easy to do. Probably improves the air seal as well.

I tried it once and I'm afraid it bombed. The tape went soft and shredded.
May have been what was in the can which I can't recall, or it may have been the el cheapo tape .... like a box of it was waved above a teflon vat and then labelled teflon tape.Cheers, Ern
