Installing windows
Hi All
We have a three story house that we are looking at changing three windows on the middle floor. Would provide us with beautiful inland views. At the moment there are three windows there which i think are about 700mm wide. Sorry dont know exact size as we dont move in till jan next year and this is guess work as having only seen the house twice in four years. We got a quote from a builder and it was $43K. Needless to say we nearly had a heart attack. I rang stegbar and to buy and install a window 2100w x 155O was around $2100 each. That leaves $37k to cut a whole in the wall ready for installation.
My question is what tradie would we get into do this? Brickie? We will have new plans done as doing other renos as well, with a structual engineer report as well. Gather may need lintels or something so that will add to the cost. And would 5 days be enough to get this job done. $100/hr would that be roughly a guide to work on? Trying to get quotes will be painful and if i can find someone will just get them to do the job on a cost bases? We are in Perth so can you just ring the tradie and say need this done, turn up on the day and get into it? Plus we will also need scaffolding.
Any ideas.
Thanks
Caz
