novice, but keen
G'Day all,
Yep I'm a keen novice.
My Greek name is Andreas my mates call me Andy, I came from Cyprus in '54 and I'm 67 young but still working in Lakes Entrance where I run my own Motel called Pelican at Lakes Motel, if any of you are in the area please call in for a cuppaccino.
I have 2 adult kids & 2 grandkids both boys, I bought a small property in Marlo near Orbost, where the Snowy River meets the sea, last year and I'm hopping to retire there, it has a beaut shed of 7.5 x 17.5 meters where I hope to spend many happy hours woodworking.
My hobbies are 4x4 wheel driving and instructing, I was a senior instructor with the Toyota Landcruiser Club of Vic. for over 5 years and of course fishing.
I have always said when I retire I would love to take up woodwork and wood turning, I came across Woodwork Forums a while ago while looking for woodworking machines and I found it very informative especially on combination machines, the Felder stands out but may have to settle for a Hammer c3 31 all I have to do now is convince the missus that it will keep me home and not chasing fish.
Well that's enough from me for now keep up the good work and I would gladly recommend this site to anyone who loves woodwork.
Regards
Andy

Andy welcome Lakes Entrance is a great place have stayed in town a few times on tours up the road from you at Think its the Soveriegn and he one that burnt down the main section I am going back to the late 80's.
Some good wood to be had not far from you at one of the saw mills I used to visit wish I had been more into wood work back then.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
The shed now known as Andy's shed was the very reason we bought the place hey every man needs a shed.
All I need now is to find the time to retire but I'm seriously looking for a combination machine and the time needed to take some woodworking courses at the local Tafe.
Regards
Andy

G'day Andreas and welcome to our cubby.
Some shed!!! Pity I'm so far away or I would help organize a shed warming party.
(That was a hint for some of your fellow Vics)

Welcome Andy, nice to have you aboard. Sounds like you will be making a lot of local, new friends on here with a shed that size
Reality is no background music.

Welcome to the forum.
Nothing wrong with chasing fish.
Then I sometimes use a rod and reel, just a little bit easier.
