Bought a new hand basin and 40mm plug and washer for it but the thread won't fit through the waste hole. Anyone have this happen before? All the basins I've ever installed had the plug and washer fit nicely. The manufacturer is Decina.

I've also bought a new bath, same company. A 50mm plug and washer does not fit through the hole but a 40mm one seems to lose. Any ideas on the sizes from Decina ?
