Default WOODWORKING QUIZ for 1 Nov 04

    Good Evening Friends,
Do rocking chair rockers always have to be cut out of solid wood? Also what is the best radius for the most comfort?

    Respectfully,

Default WOODWORKING ANSWER for 1 Nov 04

    Good Evening Friends,
Since no one answered the quiz it is possible that some of you did not see it.
It has been prooven that the better rockers are ones that are made out of laminated wood with strips of the wood to be used to be no more than 1/4" thick and laminating at least four of them for each rocker.

The best radius for the most comfortable is a 4' radius.

I am attaching a form for making rocker blanks, then all you have to do is split them in two for a pair of rockers.

    Thank you for your support.

    Respectfully,
