Merbau Table
Hey guys,
I am about to embark on my first project. I have just bought far too much timber to build a 3m x 1.2m Merbau table, and am just trying to get a idea on how i can finish it. The table will be an outdoor table, but i do not wat a gloss or epoxy finish. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
(any tips on the construction would be great to)
Cheers,
Rowlands

Hi Rowland,
I've seen a lot of kwila/merbau (I believe it's the same timber) just sanded and oiled for a finish. Nice and simple to apply and easy to reapply as required. A commercial 'tung oil' product like Feast Watson Floorseal (should be available at Bunnings) should do the trick.
Hope this is helpful

If you can get access to a lathe I recommend turning the legs, looks good and kwila/merbau has worked well for me on a lathe.

If you cant fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem...

You can't beat "Sadolin" outdoor furniture oil in teak (preferred) or clear colour.
Used this product on numerous outdoor furniture, avalible from Bunnings
