    First recorded flying pig - in an aeroplane that is - was carried aloft by Lord Brabazon in 190-something. I have a photo in a book somewhere, the pig does not look too impressed with its moment of fame, probably followed shortly after by an appointment with a cook & oven.

    Flying pigs without the benefit of a plane probably go back several hundred years - bored troops, catapult, dead (maybe) pig = entertainment.
