In your IE toolbar, go to 'View/Explorer bar' and untick 'Favorites'.

Funny fings are happening to other forumites too, the incidences of of slow connections are documented elsewhere.

    Hi There

Can you please try clearing your browsers cache?

Also try another forum skin and see if it still happens, if it doesn't maybe there is something wrong with the skin you used when you took the screen shot.

    regards

Hi Steven, personally I don't think it has anything to do with the browser cache and I have always used this skin, and DJ, IE has been working fine up till now and I don't see the need to change.
Has anything been happening "behind the scenes recently"? I ask this because I had the "WOODTURNING - GENERAL" set as my home page i.e. http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/xxxxxxxxxx. Now when I start the internet the home page comes up with https://www.woodworkforums.com/xxxxxxxxxx. Are you guys trying to solve the problem of people not seeing the thumbnails by "diverting" all logins to the woodworkforums.com/xxxxx page? And if so has this been done recently, by recently I mean today?

As a footnote, I have logged on to woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au, woodworkforums.com.au and woodworkforums.com and do not log out

We have re-directed every other possible url to www.woodworkforums.com

IE should be detecting the redirect and forwarding you on, I cant re-create your problem here unfortunately.

If you goto https://www.woodworkforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=175 You should be forwarded to the URL that doesnt have the .au bit.

Also try resetting your homepage to the woodworkforums.com version.

What version of IE do you have?

    cheers

Ok so you're obviously logged in, otherwise you wouldn't be posting. IE8 is a decent browser.

What forum skin do you have selected? you can check by scrolling down and looking for the drop down menu at the bottom left of your screen.

    Can you re-visit the page with dead images and do the following for me;

    *) View it

*) right click in a blank area and select the 'view source' option

*) copy the HTML code and past it into a PM and send it to me.

    regards

    Steven ,

I have had things similar to those that John has been experiencing .

Sometimes , but not all the time , I get ......

Wee red X's in stead of icons , thumbnails and smilies .
The main part of the screen moved half way to to the right , and down the left , a repeating list consisting of the thread title and a wee red X , repeating and repeating etc etc . This can take a few minutes to correct itself .

When I do get a thumbnail pic , the box is photo-less , and when I click it , the pic sometimes appears , very slowly , other times , the main screen dims ......... and thats how it stays.

I use IE 7 , U-Beauts skin , and am permently logged into this page

    https://www.woodworkforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8

    cheers
