Default Smilies & manage attachments slow to open

Is it just me, or are other people having trouble opening the "more smilies" window and the manage attachments window. It's taking ages for these windows to open .

It could very well be at my end DJ. Sometimes these applets/windows open up really quickly other times they take forever. I haven't changed ISP or browser, it's got me buggered.

    Cheers

I have similar problems Grumpy John, I just thought it was my computer. Evidently not so if you are experiencing the same problem.

The smiles page is massive. If you load it once every blue moon it'll take a while because of the size. If you use it regularly it will load very quickly after first load because it's cached.

Every time you log out you clear your cache, so don't logout. Ever!

If you intend posting and want to use the extra smiles, open the more smiles page as soon as you go to the message page, then go back to the message page and the smiles will load in the background. Once the page is loaded it will stay cached all day unless you log out.

Thanks for that Neil, I never log out, but I occasionally clear the cache during routine maintenance.

I have been trying to post a picture for the last 1/2 hour but the manage attachments screen refuses to open. This is now happening on a regular basis. All other sites I log on to open up pretty much immediatly, is the slowdown being caused by current upgrades or other issues?

O.K., I've just logged of and logged back on and now the manage attachment screen opened up straight away .
