granite benchtop - safe depth for cooktop?
We are replacing a 575mm wide benchtop. Most square cooktops seem to be around 510mm deep - (ceramic top depth only, not not actual cutout depth, maybe 490mm).
Would a 510mm depth be too wide for my benchtop ie: leaving sufficient stone each side for support. (What would be a safe minimum edge width.)
My existing old rectangular cooktop is only 460mm deep but I have not found a modern equivalent. I would use a 30mm thick bench but may prefer thinner.
