New, HELP MEEEE.
i couldn't figure out how to make a thread in any other folder but this one but i am in desperate need of help
i found this website via google, sorry if its an inappropriate place to ask this question!
we live in an apartment in bondi and the neighbours above us have installed floorboards. the problem is, we are 99% sure they don't have any sound proofing because we can hear them do everything, and i mean everything, including talk, walk, use the bathroom, EVERYTHING
they are rude and inconsiderate and are up untill all hours of the morning.
it is coming to a head and we are ready to take it to the next level.
i saw someone was quite knowledgable about this issue in another thread, and was wondering if that person would be able to give me some advice <3<3
do we have to see a lawyer?
thanks in advance
p.s feel free to email me on [email protected]

hmmm fed up neighbour, this is a woodwork forum
so if you needed info on putting in floorboards you'd
be in the right place that's for sure. The place to start
would be your landlord/agent, that is assuming you rent,
otherwise the body corporate. If you find things aren't
happening ask for a rent reduction due to loss of quiet
enjoyment of the property, that should get someone's
attention.
good luck

I would take a trip down to your local chamber magistrate and get some advice. Its a free service and he or she will be able to point you in the right direction.
Reality is no background music.

I had to laugh at this also.
If you're renting, speak with the Rental Tribunal (easy to find contacts) - you'll probably find they're renting too - and you have rights of privacy, which means 'quite' surrounds inclusive.
Otherwise, play didgeridoo. Or drums. Or start building furniture - which may be what got you here?!
Maybe you're part of 'The Block'.
Good luck.

Noisey Neighbours
Bloke
Take up the bagpipes, I did, hell I cant play for poo but the noise that came out was awful I must admit. The neighbour's that moved in with the screaming little girl and made my life misery moved out smartly as I practiced in the back yard.
