Possibly a dopey question or two, but I don't want to risk doing anything wrong :)

We had a new vanity put in the bathroom over the weekend. It's all good, apart from the fact that some old tiles had to go, and now is as good a time as any to get rid of the rest and retile the bathroom.

1. Do I/should I retile both the floor and the wall at the same time? The wall needs to be done, but the floor can be held off until we get some actual time up our sleeves. Would there be a large risk of damaging the wall tiles if removing the floor at a later date?

2. Retiling the wall. The walls are brick. When removing the old tiles, what do I need to do to the surface? Clean up loose bits & dust, get it flat, then apply tile adhesive & tiles? Or is there more that needs to be done?

3. Tools. Which ones can I scrimp on, and which ones should I buy decent quality? On the list will be a tile cutter, nipper, trowel and hole saw/s. The laundry/toilet will also be retiled down the line.

Cheers
