plasticiser in hard shellac
Hej!
ubeaut posted this earlier: "By the way you can now get shellac that's as tough and durable as many other surface coatings. http://www.ubeaut.com.au/hardshell.htm "
Looking at the blurb it mentions "Hard Shellac now has an added plasticiser". I would like to know what the additive is as it is not mentioned in MSDS which could be a problem regarding compliance to product registration ... maybe ...
I'd like to know what the additive is because I am sure that it is not going to be a natural product; could be melamine or urea I guess. If it isn't "natural" then what are the associated health risks of long term exposure from the product?
cheers

I don't know what Neil uses in his hard polish, but I used to make up hard polish just for dining table tops to which I added melamine resin. In use, one wouldn't know it wasn't ordinary shellac, but when cured, it was extremely tough and scratch resistant.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
