Newbug Introduction
G'day Dudes!
I've just stumbled upon yer site. Looks great! I'm 42, live in Kidderminster England (UK). I've been playing guitar since I was 16 and had the usual forays into repainting cheap a guitar, and repaired one I found in a bin once.
Hit the midlife crisis (hope I'm not half way there already!) and joined a band a year ago and I spent the last two years making a violin in practice for an archtop guitar (well it made sense when I started!) now I'm planning on putting together a Les Paul style electric before moving back to an acoustic (probably a parlour) before going for the archtop.
Looking forward to tapping into your collective wisdom!

Thanks for the welcome chaps!
I gat the impression that the forum caters for all things wood (so to speak...) which is excellent!
I just finished a two year project making my first instrument, a violin. It only took so long because I had to fit it in with she-who-must-be-obeyed and I was working slow as I had to make some jigs and the like along the way.
I'm waiting on plans for a Les Paul guitar and can't wait to get started. I'm sure that won't take as long. Just a bit worried about making the neck / fretboard etc. I'm determined to make as much as possible from scratch though.
I'll keep you posted.
