The house we recently purchased has a wrap over roof with a pitch of 5-10 degrees. During the day it creaks and pops loudly as the sun moves in and out of the clouds.

I rang a few roofing companies about getting insulation installed, Because I have a roof cavity of maybe 20cm tops the whole roof needs to come off to put the insulation down. The batts would be free of charge due to the gov rebate but I would have to pay for labour of the roof removal. As a result I figure I may aswell have the whole roof replaced as a few sheets are showing signs of wear. They recommended also at my own cost an insulation blanket be put down between the roof sheets and the battens to stop the noise completely.

Would this be the best method for removing the noise? Would have any other options?
