Hi All,
I am sure this has been asked, but I havent been able to locate the thread...

We are laying 13-mm hardwood floorboard over Red Tongue subfloor, using Bostik Ultraset.

Room is about 5 x 9m. Missus prefers to lay the floorboard along the 5m wall. After doing some research, the rule of thumb is to lay the floorboard perpendicular to the joist. Our joists are running along the 5m wall, ie the floorboard should be laid along the 9m wall.

Question:
1. how strict is this rule? can we bend it, since we have the 22mm thick red tongue subfloor?
2. is Bostik Ultraset all we need? I read somewhere with suggestion to combine Nails and Glue. I dont really want to use nails, provided glue alone is strong enough.

thank you
