Finish options for Radiata flooring
Living in Canberra, the majority of floors are radiata. The problem I am having is finding a good finish that brings some life to the floors. Radiata aside from being soft and largely inappropriate for flooring is very bland as a floor with a clear finish on it
I have suggested painting the floor, but no-one is keen to do that yet!
The water based Bona products tend to A) look a bit fake? on the radiata and B) need more than 3 coats to soak in to the grain.
I am thinking of stains, and I am also considering waxes.
Anyone got any suggestions, given that most of my clients have radiata floors - and most baulk at the cost of overlaying hardwoods.
