Welcome to the 'pie.
You could try calling these guys. I am not a member, as they are mainly interested in woodturning and scroll saw work. They were located on the north side of town in the woodworks museum, however I'm not sure of their current arrangements.

Boedhi,
I may be able to help you. I have made all my own furniture and I have a fully equipped workshop. I am more or less retired from woodworking due to health issues, so you might like to consider buying some of my woodworking machinery in due course. I am located about 105 km south of Gympie. If this is not too far for you, I could give you 3-hour lessons on Saturday mornings in my workshop. If you do a search on my name in the Big Stuff forum, you will find a number of threads on furniture that I have made in the past six years. If you are interested, PM me and I will give you my phone number, and we can discuss details.
