I need to paint an outside brick wall white. The colour is 80s dark brown never been painted and has been in all weathers for 25 years.
Do i just wash down with water then paint (I am thinking of hiring an airless spray gun) or should I use an acid to wash the grime off? Or do I use a wire brush to scrub clean?
Bare in mind it's about 30 meters long and 1.5m high. Big job. :C
I thought I would spray the mortar and roller the brick faces.
Also what paint will be best for this all weather brick?

Any thoughts anyone. Many thanks

PS I have searched this but couldn't find much about the cleaning process!
