Repairing cracks in plaster covered in grit render
Howdy,
I have an old (80+ years) weatherboard house with lath and plaster walls. They are in great condition for their age but after recent restumping it's now time to fix the few cracks.
Having studied www.how2plaster.com etc. I am confident it will all be looking great in the bedrooms. The loungeroom walls however have been finished with some sort of render that is full of grit (1mm to 2mm round chunks of sand) and then painted over.
Any suggestoins on how to remove the grit render from the entire room?
I realise that ripping it all down and replacing it with plasterboard might be an option vbut the cracking is minimal and the plaster is in great condition generally so it seems a shame to rip it out without some attempt to repair it first.
Cheers
