help with game trainer
I am having trouble with a certain level in doom 3 and I downloaded a trainer, however it says to put trainer in game directory. How do I do this. Also does anybody know of very good but FREE burner, I have tried a couple but I need something very easy most seem too complicated. I have win xp home and there seems to be a burner in the win xp system, but it looks like it is for music only ( is this correct) anyway I find it hard to follow and help is not much good.
Thank you

It is in the right forum.

Jean.
If I knew the answer I would give it. There are other experts on the board that may be able to help.

Sorry ,
I didn't mean to offend anyone personally. Guess my aspect is a little more creative. I've written computer programs and found that you need to use the least common denominator to accomodate the general population. Guess that may be a generalisation. My more recent experience is I have a 15 and 10 year old who have just spent the entire school holidays laying in front of X-Box games demanding that I drop what I'm doing in the workshop and take them to the video store to rent a different one.
If I touched a raw nerve I'll accept that.
Perhaps my response in that particular forum was inappropriate.
Guess as a woodworker I didn't expect to see such a question. I'm such a silly duffer.
After having a thread pulled that I was trying to pacify because it was discussing subjects that some considered too political or in the wrong area and sending the moderators an explanatory email without response at the time this post was placed I guess I'm a little surprised to have a woodworkers response to a question that involved "Doom 3" - a subject I've never noticed in 18 months - result in the message being censored.
Obviously I'm a narrow minded refugee or a member of the liberal party
I've enjoyed the participation in this bulletin board and made some good friends and feel I've got a little respect from a number of others. Where do you feel I was out of bounds?

Jean, Can't help you with Doom. I gave up years ago, now I just play Big Mutha Trucks!! .
Win XP Pro has a good burner for documents and images. Just drag and drop. I tend to put everything into a folder first then chuck the whole lot over as one. Multiple burns of different media don't seem to work so well but otherwise its just fine. (I use TDK discs as had probs with others)
Nero comes with most hardware and a lot of people swear by it. I found it very complicated and very unreliable if it wasn't right up to date. After Big Mutha Truckers I'd say Nero was about the most useless piece of software I ever installed Got friends who just love Nero. Whatever....
BurnQuick is an excellent little package you can download free for 45 days. Check out all the geek sites for fixes an tips
This is not an excuse for the thread to turn into a general gaming discussion though...

go to www.download.com and search for cd / dvd burners. theres heaps of selection available there. if one package or another only gives a 30 day trial you only have to reload it once a month - either that or buy it!!!
to put your trainer into the game just grab the file or wad or whatever its called and literally drop it into the directory that you've installed doom3 in. if you are a computer novice and dont know what a directory is get some one to show you what a directory is.
I agree doom3 is an excellent game, im stuck on lvl 4 of delta labs and cant get past the twin beasties without a BFG9000 - so I have to back track and redo a whole heap of levels until I find the mutha trucking gun!!!Zed

Doom 3
Hi,
You might want to try a google on Doom 3 and find a site that has a forum...most of them do.....gamespy.com is one.
sure as eggs there will be some who has posted on there who is having the same probs as yourself.
Alternatively, check the game website and follow the links.
Just out of interest " what area are you stuck on" , send me a pm and i may be able to help.
Cheers

Use the BFG 9000. This fixes all problems.
Also, make sure you check the Martin Buddy web site, it's got the code for some of the weapon lockers.
My current Fav' is Joint Operations, Typhoon Rising.
Ben.
