Radiata pine floor polystain colour for dark furnishings
When we pulled up the old carpet on the floor of the house we are moving into we discovered what we thought was a baltic pine floor, nice reddish dark tones that would go well with our mainly dark furniture, mohagony, oak and the like. When the floor sander came in and the old finish came off it revealed a very light radiata! For a poly/stain one step finish what works best to bring a baltic pine look or similar? I notice that Cabots makes Mohogany and Jarrah for example. The walls in the main hallway are vintage 3/8" pure western red cedar. Budget is a consideration as someone else is paying for the restorations for us [it is a church manse].
Thanks

Baltic pine will look similar to radiarta when freshly sanded, when it ages is when it changes hue, baltic goes a creamy tan/samon pinks and radiarta goes yellow pissy gold/dark tan.
To keep the colour of baltic you need to use a water based finish as oil based polys will heavily yellow it.....................................................................
