what are u using to rip them?

    chainsaw?
    swing saw?
    saw bench?
or are you just spliting with wedges?

before i got teh lucas we ripped all our posts with a chainsaw 034 and 170.

each bloke could cut 100 posts a day and if they didnt they didnt stay long.

you should be cutting right threw for each post tehre is no need to be spliting any.

cut to teh center, roll log, cut to the center, crow bar in saw cut to break out any remaining wood and lift it out.

some blokes find it easyer to halve teh posts down. halve log, quater, eighth, sisxteenth etc untill each is the size of post you want.

you should also be running 3/8 skip tooth chain and keep it sharp. and 3/8lp chain if you can.

    hope this helps.
