Aluminium sash windows (old) parts needed
Hi everyone,
There have been a number of posts regarding the older aluminium sash windows but I am not referring to the spiral conduit covered balances.
Rather, I need parts or advice on repairs to early 1960s double hung sash frames with wire where rope would normally be seen. They operate similar to the traditional wood /rope sashes but the metal frames are naturally very thin. I have been told that this style of window was used on the early Victorian Housing Commission buildings.
Can anyone suggest where I can source parts for these windows or give any practical advice as to repair. I have quite a number to get back into working condition and used genuine parts are better than something made up.
Thank you, John
