Hi All
This is my first post - I have searched for similar to see if my question has been answered before but couldn't see anything related.
My issue is I have rotted timber rails/balustrade that need replacing on a concrete deck that is 3m above ground. The old rails were held in place with steel rods that are only 730mm high. I think they need to be 1000mm. The balustrade/rails are not safe & I have a 7 month old that will be crawling soon. What is the best/easiest/cost effective way to replace them?
The concrete deck is 1800mm wide and 11m long and sits on a brick wall with an overlap of about 50mm. There is a section of the deck above the garage that is supported by a big steel pole as there is no brick wall there. The 730mm steel poles are embedded in to the concrete so are nice & strong but not high enough. I am thinking i need to get posts 1150mm high and dynabolt them to the wall with the 150mm overlap and then attach rails to them. If that is the correct thing then what do I do about the section with no wall, just a pole?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Kiv
