G day G day from Brissy
Hi all, just want to say hi. have just joined here and hopefully learn a thing or 2.
Im based in brissy and have worked as a cabinetmaker for several years in a vareity of areas.
my biggest highlight in my cabinetmaking career was making some cigar boxes for the late Rene Rifkin. I now have a bad back and took it easy for a number of years, sold all my machinery. Have just kept a few tools.Had lost all interest in working with timber.
Something amazing happened......i suddenly found out a few months ago a re emerging of my passion for timber!!
So here i am looking on, bright eyed and bushy tailled!!
I have a few projects in i mind.
I really like Gearge Nakashima and his style of work, it has always inspired.
Anyway hope to chat here with you and share some ideas.
Cheers
M

Welcome Moh Man.
Feel rather fortunate that I live in the area where George hung his hat. Shame he passed on.These days George's grandson, Ru Amagasu is doing lead designer work for Willard Bros. Fine Furniture division.Cheers,
Ed

G'day MohMan and welcome to woodworkers heaven!
I too like the works of Mr. Nakashima, as does SWMBO. Because of this we have one of his coffee tables.

Welcome m m, did a few Humidors of RR myself when he just started in the cigar trade, Was a bit to expensive for them in the end, but did get a few nice Cigars from him out of the vault.
Nice to see someone else got rid of the machines and kept the hand tools.
Cheers and Welcome again.
