need advice for after I rip this wall paper off!
Hi all,
We have a little exhousing commision place.......I love it......... but the lounge room walls are covered in wallpaper........:oo:..........its coming off pretty easily!
Under there is what looks like old plasterboard........I can see fibres in the holes where picture hooks were. Along the edges of the architraves and skirting is pretty rough...the previous owner painted with what looks like high gloss enamel over the edge of the wallpaper.......:doh:........:)(. The seams are also a little proud and there is paint/finish coming off in places.
Where I have attempted to get the wall paper off at the edges has resulted in some pretty rough patches and the plan is to sand down and fill with spackfiller............
Is this the correct way to go? and then seal the patches to get ready to paint?
I am a pretty dab hand at painting and can do the odd faux finish and havent decided yet what will be going on the walls...........but probably a plain satin finish in cream.....:B if I can get it smooth enough!
Many thanks
Jan
