OK, with all the help from this forum, some investigation locally and reference to Allan Staines, i think that I am ready to take a leap of faith and get the deck going, but before I do, just a quick check on my specks...

based on F5 as per dcwalker and vernonv suggestions...

My deck 11000 x 6000

Available height is only 280mm

Ledger - 70 x 45 fixed to brick wall at 600mm

Bearers - spaced at 1500 FLW 2000
2/190x45

Joists - 140 x 45 at 400 centres inside bearers due to height restrictions

Spotted Gum deck

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
